Suruhanjaya Hak Asasi Manusia Malaysia (SUHAKAM) ditubuhkan oleh Parlimen di bawah Akta Suruhanjaya Hak Asasi Manusia Malaysia 1999, Akta 597. Akta tersebut telah diwartakan pada 9 September 1999. Mesyuarat sulung SUHAKAM diadakan pada 24 April 2000.
Suruhanjaya Hak Asasi Manusia Malaysia (SUHAKAM) mempelawa warga negara Malaysia yang mempunyai kebolehan berinovatif, berdedikasi dan berkelayakan untuk mengisi jawatan berikut:-

The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) was established under Act 597 which is the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia Act 1999. SUHAKAM has the mandate and responsibility as the National Human Rights Institution, to promote awareness and protection of human rights. Malaysia Citizens who are innovative, dedicated and qualified are invited to fill the following positions:
1. HEAD OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT (GRADE 48)
2. RESEARCH OFFICER (GRADE 41)
3. CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER (GRADE 17)
