The establishment of this university was the result of the merge between the College of Agriculture Malaya with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Malaya. Dr. Mohd. Rashdan bin Haji Baba, the principal of the college of Agriculture Malaya, was appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor by virtue of the provisions of section 18 of the Universities and University Colleges Act, 1971.
Two breast cancer survivors, one from Malaysia and the other from USA, initiate the idea of adapting and translating selected educational materials into Bahasa Melayu as one of the ways in providing the much needed information on breast cancer treatment and care in Malaysia. Their effort evolved into a major educational activity; Cancer Resource, Education & Support (CaEd). Leadership for this program is being provided cooperatively by the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Cornell University. CaEd was formally launched in Malaysia in September 2003. Now CaEd is known as CaRE.

JAWATAN KOSONG INSTITUT DIPLOMASI DAN HUBUNGAN LUAR NEGERI (IDFR) 2012

Institut Diplomasi dan Hubungan Luar Negeri atau lebih dikenali sebagai IDFR telah ditubuhkan pada 1 Julai 1991 di bawah Jabatan Perdana Menteri susulan keputusan Kabinet pada 6 Mac 1991. Ia telah dilancarkan secara rasmi pada tahun yang sama iaitu pada 12 Ogos 1991 oleh Perdana Menteri ketika itu, Dato’ Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. Pada 27 Mac 2001, IDFR secara rasminya telah menjadi sebahagian daripada Kementerian Luar Negeri (KLN) Malaysia. Selepas perpindahan Wisma Putra ke lokasi baru di Putrajaya, tapak lama kementerian telah dijadikan kampus IDFR. Kampus baru yang terletak di Jalan Wisma Putra telah dibuka secara rasmi pada 2006.
